A Case of Esophageal Foreign Body

Abstract

|
A case of Esophageal foreign body which had been lodged for six monthes was reviewed. After the initial swallowing, about two monthes elapsed without any discomfort, when respiratory symtoms such as coughing and sputum were complained of, X-ray taken six monthes after swallowing in order to check chest finding revealed foreign body at the level of first pinchcock of esophagus, which was removed under esophagoscope, The prolonged sojourn of the foreign body was seemed to be due to symptomless interval and groundless assumption that the foreign body had been passed by bowel. If respiratory symptom did not appear, it can be said that more prolonged sojourn might be resulted.
